Despite the critical role prosecutors play in the criminal legal system, we barely understand what drives their elections. This could be in part because until recently their races were generally uncontested, and so there wasn’t really all that much to study. But these races have become much more competitive in recent years, so understanding the politics of them has grown as well. The posts here are, I believe, the first efforts to describe these races in any sort of comprehensive(ish) detail.
